Internships Available Through Member Stations
Each year the NYSBA offers our highly acclaimed Internship Program to member stations. The annual program covers interns who are selected by NYSBA member stations during the period of January 1 – December 15.
INTERNSHIPS WILL BE OFFERED TO STATIONS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. FUNDS FOR THE PROGRAM ARE NOT UNLIMITED. WE URGE YOU TO ACT FAST.
This wonderful opportunity provides interns with the chance to gain first-hand knowledge of the various aspects of the broadcasting business.
- Under the program, your station selects its own intern and pays the intern directly, consistent with the federal and state minimum wage laws.
- NYSBA will reimburse your station at the “minimum wage” hourly rate based on all applicable state and federal minimum wage laws. We will reimburse up to a maximum of 180 hours.
- To receive reimbursement, stations must file all necessary documentation with NYSBA at the conclusion of the internship. Station payments to interns should occur no later than the completion date of their internship.
- Participating stations must comply with all program guidelines.
