We want to especially thank Congressman Paul Tonko (D 20th), who was our featured speaker at the awards luncheon. Congressman Tonko is an important member of the House Commerce Committee which has direct oversight over the FCC and broadcasting. Buffalo Area Award Recipients
The Honorable Chris Collins spoke at the Buffalo Luncheon which took place at the Albright Knox Art Gallery. Congressman Collins cited numerous examples of broadcasters serving Buffalo. Senator Funke is no stranger to NYSBA. He was a broadcaster in Rochester for 40 years and a member of the NYSBA Hall of Fame. We were delighted that the Deputy Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, John DeFrancisco was able to attend. Senator DeFrancisco is one of the most powerful members of the New York Senate. He previously served as Chairman of the important Senate Finance Committee. He has been a good friend to broadcasters.
