CBS 6 Melodies of Christmas - WRGB

2024 marks the 45th celebration of the CBS 6 Melodies of Christmas. This annual 4-day holiday extravaganza hosted by CBS 6 and held at Proctors theatre raises funds for the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center. Our Melodies campaign has stood the test of time, despite a time when a global pandemic prevented us from having an in-person show for two years. CBS 6’s commitment to this cause has been unwavering and lead to reimagining the event as well as the fundraising during these difficult years. The community’s support of this event has been unwavering as well, with support remaining steady and contributing to the event’s strong comeback in 2022 when we returned to the theatre. To date more than 10 million dollars has been raised for the Melodies Center by means of this annual campaign.

Those jugs are then brought to one location to be dumped and counted. WNY Heroes: More than a Campaign - WKBW-TV

The relationship with 7WKBW and Western New York Heroes began in 2021, where we joined forces for our veteran themed “Buffalo Strong” campaign to help support local veterans in the Western New York area. This campaign created awareness for the work Western New York Heroes does and helped raise over 3 thousand of dollars for their organization. At 7WKBW, we pride ourselves on building relationships – that we don’t show up for a few minutes, then disappear never to be seen again. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of continuing to showcase their work, but also sharing the real stories of our local veterans through stories and long-form content specials. Additionally, on 9/11 last year, we were able to honor, and celebrate our local veterans by hosting a Buffalo Bills watch party at the Western New York Heroes facility.

Long Island College & Career Fair WALK-WKJY-WWWF-WWSK-WHLI

As part of our community commitment, Connoisseur Media is proud to host the Long Island College & Career Fair. We network with all the counselor groups on Long Island, but have received strong support from the Suffolk Directors of Guidance, who help us create the connection between student and recruiter. Most recruiters are colleges and universities, but since college may not be for every college-aged kid, we also have military, unions, police, trade schools, technical schools and even local retailers and businesses looking for seasonal or part time workers. It’s a lot of work, time, and resources to cultivate a college fair that will be meaningful for students and their families. We’ve committed to do the heavy lifting of coordinating the show so the schools and it’s counselors can focus on the students and making good connections. Plus, we promote it on all five of our Long Island radio stations. It’s a true example of community spirit to further the next generation of future leaders.

Hope Rocks WWSK

94.3 The Shark created Hope Rocks during the pandemic. The goal is to remind people that with and though music, we are never alone and that talking about mental health is okay…more importantly, it’s okay to not be okay. Each year we team up with AFSP - the Association for Suicide Prevention, Long Island chapter, to help break the stigma of talking about suicide and mental health in an effort to support suicide prevention. August 28, 2024, 94.3 The Shark was able to work with Jacoby Shaddix and Jerry Horton of Papa Roach to bring a special “Hope Rocks” performance to Long Island. Supporting their commitment to AFSP and mental health, they performed a handful of songs for an intimate crowd at The Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale. All guests donated at least $9.43 and presenting sponsor, Arrow Scrap and E-Waste recycling, got up on stage and donated $1000 – matched on the spot by Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach lead singer)! Together, 94.3 The Shark, Arrow Scrap, Papa Roach, and AFSP – along with the help of our guests – we raised $5,729. AFSP shared their gratitude with the following words: “It really was a great testament to your saying "With Music you are never alone". Jacoby was a wonderful advocate for mental health and AFSP, we are so grateful for you including us in this.”

Free Summer Concert Series WWWF

For years, 103.1 has been a major supporter of free summer concerts on Long Island and this year marked the 31st anniversary of our Free Summer Concert Series. As 103.1 The Wolf was introduced to Long Island, we were excited to welcome country music concerts into our 2024 Free Summer Concert Series line up. We had our 18’ wolf inflatable and our bright orange van, along with one of our on-air personalities, to welcome the crowds of country music fans, who haven’t had a “hometown” country music station for years. We were excited to have our partners at PSEG-Long Island as part of the series to “power” the marketing and promotion of our 2024 series. Together, with PSEG-Long Island, our participating townships and 103.1 The Wolf, we celebrated community and showcased our beautiful parks and recreation areas with the biggest and best free outdoor concerts for country music lovers. We help draw over 100,000 music lovers to 20 concerts across 7 parks, in 2 counties – making for 1 epic summer.

The Oyster Festival - WKJY

KJOY was the excusive broadcast partner for the 2023 Oyster Festival in Oyster Bay. The Oyster Festival is a 2-day event featuring activities ranging from pirate shows and carnivals to live music, shopping, and a beer and wine garden. Festival-goers visit the food court, or the famous “Oyster Court” for oyster chowder, deep fried oysters, oysters on the half-shell and more. Each food booth is connected to a local charity so when guests buy a meal, they are supporting hyper local organizations in the Oyster Bay/East Norwich area. Staples of the event include the annual Oyster shucking and oyster eating contests, hosted by KJOY’s Jon Daniels – it’s something you have to see to understand, but comes with a sense of community pride unrivaled at other festivals. The Oyster Festival has been around for over 40 years, but what most people don’t know is that it’s the largest non-profit waterfront festival on the east coast. In 2023, KJOY partnered Rallye BMW with the festival as an official partner to provide added visibility and exposure for the event while displaying some beautiful vehicles. Plus, guests had a chance to play the lucky guess game for a chance to win a BMW from Rallye BMW.

WALK 97.5 Thanks-For-Giving - WALK

2023 marked the 23rd annual Thanks-For-Giving food drive event for Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank. WALK 97.5 partnered with King Kullen grocery stores to host 8 food drives and a full day live broadcast food drive on 11/16/23 at the King Kullen in Patchogue. In total, the 2023 Thanks-For-Giving Food Drive collected 17, 485 pounds of food and an additional $3,895 in monetary donations. Using the LI Cares conversion rate for donations, in total, we helped generate 20,329 pounds of food – just shy of 3000 pounds more than collected in 2022. We’re looking forward to our 2024 drive, back with King Kullen, to benefit Long Island Cares and Long Islanders who are suffering from hunger and food insecurity.

Foxx & Annie's Food Fund - WCBS-FM

Did you know nearly 1.3 Million New Yorkers are struggling to feed themselves and their families? With Foxx & Annie’s growing families, and everything becoming less affordable, they know all New Yorkers must be feeling the same pressure. Foxx & Annie teamed up with City Harvest, a non-profit organization that’s been around for over 40 years! City Harvest helped start the food rescue mission. We set out a goal to raise 50,000 meals for hungry New Yorkers. Along the way, we met volunteers and those who benefitted from City Harvest’s services. We are so grateful to have reached above and beyond our goal, we were able to provide 55,282 meals to New Yorkers!!

Foxx & Annie's Diaper Drive - WCBS-FM

Foxx & Annie are parents to kids ages nine months to 6 years old. At the time of the Diaper Drive, Annie was pregnant with her third child. They both know how expensive it can be, especially as the cost keeps skyrocketing. We felt compelled to help out our neighbors and encourage everyone to donate a box of diapers to a local non-profit organization called Little Essentials. We highlighted the non-profit by doing interviews on-site. We also volunteered at diaper distributions bringing stories of families we met to life. Foxx & Annie set out a mission to get 25,000 diapers for Little Essentials… We surpassed that goal and received over 46,000 diapers! Our studios AND hearts filled up with all the love we got! We couldn’t thank the Tri-State enough.

We partnered with Rochester Optical - Rochester's leader in the eye care industry and protective eyewear, and had 20,000 solar eclipse glasses created to give away at different events in our community. Not only did we give them away at our regular events you might find us at like the Rochester Auto Show, Home and Garden Expo and St Patrick's Day Parade, but we hosted a drive through event at our station giving away free glasses to any one that pulled up. We had over 600 cars come through during our 2 hours of evening news casts. Rochester Optical did interviews explaining the importance of protecting your eyes and what could happen if you don't. On top of this our meteorological team made several school visits during the months leading up to the big event - educating classrooms and kids on the eclipse.
