NYSBA Files EAS Plan with FCC’s New Online System

The FCC has updated its EAS Rules. Consistent with the new regulations, all states must now file their EAS plan online by July 5th. Last night, we submitted our plan to the FCC’s new EAS web portal. The purpose of the online platform is to provide the FCC with a uniform EAS approach across all 50 states. The plan includes references to all LP1 stations that must be monitored in each EAS region. A special thanks to our engineer, Tom Ray, for uploading the NY State EAS plan onto the website.

Note the filing does not materially alter the existing NY State plan. The NY State EAS Plan and the monitoring assignments will continue to be found on the NYSBA website here.

Going forward, we will continue to work with NY State DHSES and other members of the New York State Emergency Communications Committee to update the plan.
