The eight year license term has gone by in what might seem like the blink of an eye, but by February 1, radio stations in New York will need to file their license renewal applications. TV follows just a year behind. New York comes near the end of the renewal cycle, and we have learned much about the FCC’s review of the renewal applications. With the public file online, a broadcaster’s activities are subject to much more scrutiny than in the past. The application requires attention to many topics including the completeness of the public file (especially with respect to the Quarterly Issues Programs lists and political advertising sales), compliance with EEO rules, and a station’s service to the public. With only a few months to go before the deadline, what should you be doing to prepare for your license renewal filing?
To help stations prepare to file their renewal applications we have arranged for noted communications attorney David Oxenford to provide a license renewal webinar exclusively for New York broadcast stations. The webinar is interactive and attendees will be able to ask questions.
So join Washington DC-based attorney David Oxenford from Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP for a discussion of the issues broadcasters should be considering in preparation for their license renewal applications.
This webinar is offered to NYSBA member stations in good standing free of charge. You must register in advance. To register click HERE.
