New York State Broadcasters Association Applauds the “HEROES Small Business Lifeline Act” for Helping Local Broadcasters

David Donovan, President of the New York State Broadcasters Association, Inc., stated:

“Yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D. NY), along with Senators Ben Cardin (D. MD), Chris Coons (D. DE), Jeanne Shaheen (D. NH) and others, introduced a new COVID related bill that focuses on helping small businesses in New York and across the country. It contains specific provisions that help local journalism during this pandemic.  Allowing more local broadcast stations to participate in the SBA’s PPP program ensures that the public will continue to receive life-saving information in local communities throughout New York State.  We thank Senator Schumer for his continued efforts to help keep the citizens of New York informed during this health crisis.  We hope Congress and the White House will move forward and pass this important legislation”
