FCC Releases List of Stations to be Part of EEO Audit – Includes New York Stations

The Enforcement Bureau sent the second of its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters for 2020 to randomly selected radio stations on June 9, 2020  The Bureau annually audits the EEO programs of randomly selected broadcast licensees.  About 35 stations are being audited.  The list includes two NY stations.

Stations must still respond to this letter, even if the station is not required under FCC rules to have an EEO recruitment program due to the nature of its full-time workforce (because it has fewer than five full-time employees, defined as employees regularly assigned to work 30 hours a week or more).

Stations must upload your response to this audit letter to your station’s online public inspection file on www.fcc.gov by July 24, 2020, and include in your response your station’s Facility ID Number and an e-mail address where a station representative can be contacted about your response.  The response should be filed in the online file under “EEO Records” which will appear as a briefcase icon on the left side of the screen when you go into the online public file.  Stations should not direct responses to the office of the FCC Secretary.  The Secretary does not process responses to EEO audit letters.
