Once again we saw an increase in the attendance at the digital leadership academy. This year we provided the best in digital leadership and training. The first day included general sessions and our advertising awards.
The first panel was titled Media: NOW – The Evolving Video and Audio Landscape. A Dentsu Aegis Network presentation and interview focused on how content, distribution, data and technology are changing the ecosystem and making marketers and agencies change the way we conduct our business.
Panelists were introduced by Elicia Greenberg, Programs Director of the Ad Club of New York. In partnership with the Ad Club of New York, our first panel featured Dave Sederbaum EVP, Video Investment, Amplifi US, Dentsu Aegis Network; Diana Anderson, SVP National Audio & Local Video Activation at Carat and Rachel Starr, SVP, Group Director of Integrated Planning, at Carat.
The second panel, Market Realities in New York – Cross-Platform Competition, was conducted by BIA Advisory Services. Local Radio and TV stations are competing in a market environment where most of the ad spending growth is going to digital platforms. In fact, all the increased ad spending in the Auto category will be digital. Marketers and their agencies are moving aggressively into performance-based, full-funnel ad campaigns that integrate cross-platform ad channels.
Rick Ducey, Managing Director, BIA Advisory Services hosted the top-notch panel that included Mark Fratrik, SVP/Chief Economist, BIA Advisory Services, Jared Willig, SVP Digital Strategy & Operations, Townsquare Media and Alan Wolk, Co-Founder/Lead Analyst, TV [R]EV.
Our third panel, Mastering Digital Ads – How to Grow Local Ad Sales with Digital Media, covered the entire spectrum of digital and traditional broadcast sales. Ben Silverstein, CEO of Ad Coach, provided tremendous insight into how broadcasters can bridge digital and traditional media sales.
The second day focused on two break-out sessions. The first track was hosted by Adam Armbruster, ESA & Company, took a deep dive into several industry sectors. The second track hosted by Kara Dempsey, Training Consultant, IAB, featured IAB’s Digital Certification course. Both tracks were very well attended.
