As we noted last week, the Governor has signed a number of bills concerning elections, including a bill that moves primary elections for New York State and local officials to June. The Board of Elections has released its calendar.
Type of Election | Date | Lowest Unit Rate Period Begins |
NY State Primary | June 25, 2019 | May 11, 2019 (45 days prior) |
NY State General Election | November 5, 2019 | September 6, 2019 (60 days prior) |
Obviously there are no Federal elections in 2019. In 2020, both the state and federal primaries will be held on the same date. To see a copy of the Board of Elections press release for 2019 elections click HERE.
