Make Sure On-Line Public Inspection Files Are In Order – FCC to Activate All Public Inspection Accounts by Nov. 15th

The Media Bureau just issued a notice reminding all radio stations of their obligation to place all of their public file materials on line.  All radio licensees were required to transition their public inspection files to the Commission’s online public file database by March 1, 2018.

For radio broadcast stations that have not activated their public inspection file account to make files available to the public, the Media Bureau will activate all remaining accounts on November 15, 2018.  Stations are required to post all public file material except political file material created before March 1, 2018 for a defined subgroup of resource constrained stations.

This notice is a not so gentle warning. If you have not uploaded your files, the FCC may start fining stations. Remember because it is an on-line system, the FCC can inspect your file remotely from Washington DC.  So make sure everything is in order.
