Broadcasters Vital to New York’s Economy

A recently published economic study commissioned by NAB and conducted by Woods Poole Economics in Washington DC demonstrates the importance of broadcasters in New York.  According to the report, broadcasting’s impact on the New York economy, including the impact on related businesses and the stimulative impact on the economy through advertising:

Total Economic Impact in NY State – $75.70 billion

  • Television $45.15 billion
  • Radio $30.55 billion

Jobs -143.40 thousand jobs

  • Television 85.47 thousand jobs
  • Radio 57.93 thousand jobs’

In fact local broadcasting, by itself is directly responsible for 18.47 thousand jobs and$3.42 billion in economic activity.
