Due to Hurricane Florence, the FCC has cancelled the Disaster Information Reporting Service (DIRS) exercise scheduled for September 13th. As we reported last week, the DIRS was a voluntary exercise for those stations that have signed up to be part of this service.
THE DIRS EXERCISE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE NATIONAL EAS TEST SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 20TH. The national EAS test will go forward as scheduled.
